Something New

Stand up Paddleboarding (SUP) is traditionally a Hawaiian sport that is an offshoot of surfing. It has now become one of the fastest growing watersports in the world, so you have to try it! SUP is a great activity for everyone (surfers and non surfers alike), it can be as relaxed or as intense as you would like and a great way to explore your natural surroundings.

Paddle with the locals

The LGS team working closely with local council Randwick City Council and Randwick City Tourism Inc. will showcase one of Sydney’s best kept secret spots La Perouse; including Kamay, Botany Bay, National Park, Malabar Beach and Frenchman’s Bay. In our Byron Bay location working closely with the council we operate in Brunswick Heads.

About us

Lets Go SUP (LGS) is the friendliest and most professional surf school in Australia. Surfing is a unique slice of Aussie life. LGS which established in 1995 by Brenda Miley is a pioneer of learn to surf experiences. A local surfing champion and PE teacher, Brenda started LGS out of the back of a Kombi van in the car park on Bondi Beach with a couple of surfboards and a lot of enthusiasm. Brenda had an idea to encourage more women to get into the sport of surfing. “When I was competing there weren’t a lot of girls surfing, so I thought the best way to change that was to encourage and coach girls and that’s how it all started!” Brenda Miley.

After have been surfing for more than 15 years and loving every single minute of it, by one of those funny twists in life I fell into Stand up paddle boarding and a new relationship with the ocean was created. Maybe I am getting older, maybe wiser, but the feeling of being on top of the board and peacefully paddling whilst enjoying the warm sun on my face has made me a convert. I hope to express this new passion to whomever would like to give it a go. Qualifications: Level 1 Surf Coach Certificate, Senior First Aid Certificate, Advanced Resuscitation Techniques; Apola (OSSCA)

Frenchmans Bay is a calm family-friendly bay with a beautiful sandy beach located in Botany Bay in the suburb of La Perouse. It is a small bay that opens into Botany Bay at its eastern end. Shops and restaurants are located nearby and there's a children’s playground and public toilets in the adjacent reserve. From the beach there are views over Botany Bay to the west and Botany Bay National Park to the south. This westerly outlook gives Frenchmans Bay a unique orientation amongst Sydney beaches.

Brunswick Heads is a small coastal holiday village situated at the mouth of the Brunswick River. Brunswick is situated only 15 minutes away from beautiful Byron Bay. The north bank of the river hosts a protected rainforest and the southern bank provides a harbour and small marina for fishing boats and small craft. Mt Chincogan and Mt Warning provide a spectacular hinterland backdrop to the river that meanders up to the small town of Mullumbimby. The river is teeming with life and you'll have the opportunity for close encounters with turtles and birds of prey such as osprey and sea eagles, this is a great place for water sports.
